Glenda Black Obituary

glenda_black_militaryDELPHOS, OHIO — Glenda Black, 86, of Delphos passed away peacefully after an extended illness on July 20, 2016, at home surrounded by her family.

She was born Nov. 12, 1929, in Denver, Colorado, to Elmer Hayden and Elva Rath Tillman, who preceded her in death.

She married Richard A. Black in 1951. They divorced in 1970.

She is survived by three daughters, Laurel (Ron) Morris of Hertford, North Carolina, Christine Black of Walker, Louisiana and Leslie (Bill) Klausing of Delphos; eight grandchildren, Corey Check, Jason Check, Jonelle Bourgeois, Michael (Jenna) Laughlin, John Laughlin, Brittany Laughlin, Bill (Azure) Klausing and Michele (Doug) Martz; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Glenda graduated from North Denver High School, Denver, in 1947. She then joined the Air Force and served as a teletype operator during the Korean War. She worked for the Hayes Albion plant in Spencerville, retiring after 26 years in 1994. She was also an American Red Cross volunteer. Glenda was a resident of Spencerville and Delphos for 51 years.

At her request, no service will be held locally.

Interment and memorial service will be at National Cemetery, Fort Logan, Colorado.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are to Community Health Professionals Hospice, Delphos.

Arrangements are by Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.
